So I brought a new nem last week, green bubble tip, he’s hidden straight away! My clown fish hosted it straight away so that’s good! So after a few days I moved the rock he was on so it was on show, woke up this morning nope it’s back hiding again , will it always hide now? I hope not!

Ya you can't really manipulate it and put it where you want it, it'll just take a walk. Is it getting at least a little bit of light? It is completely normal for nems to move around for a while before they get (hopefully) permanently settled

Anemones will seek both light and acceptable current. It has a mind of its own and if lights are bright, it may be seekeng shade, hence reaching for a hiding spot

I am not going to lie, when I saw the title of the thread I thought you were asking for name suggestions for your anemone haha :p.

Anyway, your anemone will do what your anemone wants to do. You can rotate the rock all you want but it is just going to move wherever it feels comfortable.

I would suggest letting it do its thing. It will eventually come out towards the light. It more than likely just needs some time to settle.

Thank you for the reply, it isn’t getting any light what so ever, hopefully he will settle on show, otherwise what’s the point, most annoying thing is I now can’t see my clown fish as they are with the nem all the time of course, I’m scared of having a repeat of what happened to my anemone last month. It got stuck in the grill of my filter and died so I’m keeping a close eye on him

hahah ohhh yes my spelling on that hahahah he actually does need a name! My nephew said flubber definitely a potential name hahah,

ok thank you, I will give it some time and hopefully he comes out eventually so he’s on show! I’m just fearful that he does the same as my last one last month he got inside the grill of my filter and died behind there! Not a good experience especially trying to get the thing out. So I’m keeping a close eye on him.

They move fast so you should definitely get the filter sorted out. Can you rearrange your rocks so that it can't get to the filter? Or even better put a net or sponge over the filter?
