New apex wax vs eco tech vs jabeo

Hey guys new to the form and I had a question.. I bought a jabeo rw 30 for my 65 gallon that will be primarily but will look to but softies once I'm running for a while... Just got an apex jr as well. Am I better off upgrading to the newer apex wav module and use theirs, grabe a vortch or keep my jabeo and grab the new module that makes it apex friendly? Thanks

The module that makes the Jebao Apex friendly requires variable speed ports, which the Apex Jr does not have. You will have to get the variable speed module for $100 to enable the linkage adapter to allow the Apex to control the Jebao pump. They don't make a RW-30. Do you mean the RW-15?
My personal advice for now is to keep the Jebao if it's the RW-15, and use the controller that came with it. You should have plenty of flow in a 65 with that pump. If it's the RW-20, it will be too much flow. I have two of the RW-20's in a 220 gallon and keep the max speed on the second setting out of 8 or it's too much. Not sure about the RW-8, the flow may be too little for one in a 65 gallon.
If you are new to the hobby there are better things to spend your money on at this stage than hundreds of extra dollars for the better powerheads.

I just put the wavs on my 6ft tank and running at 60% blows sand on the bottom. I think they'd be a little too powerful for a 65g. Or at least I don't think you'd get the most out of them.
