I sure will. I'm going to dose half the recommended amount at first. I think for a month at half dose. Is that excessive?
I am more concern about the salt mix and tank parameters rather than ABEV. I will possibly first start doing 10% weekly water change with reef salt for a month. Then start ABEV. The system needs time to adapt with the new parameters.

Sounds a little intimidating, LOL! I plan on doing 10% water changes a week. Thanks for the advice! I'm sure I will be talking to you quite a bit :D

I have been having an issue with the reef salt having high mag....1600 or more...I have tested 3 boxes that I have ordered and all are over 1600 mg. Tested the new sw at 1.025 with atc refractometer calibrated with calibration fluid...please help me on this....I'm now starting to question going the full line of products...

I wonder if our test kits are giving us false high readings. I haven't dosed Mag in maybe 3-4 months because my level were always in bet 1500-1600 and I just thought the my water changes were keeping it up and my tank wasn't utilizing it as much. My recent triton test said my Mag was in the 1300's, I'll double check later. I sent the samples to triton before I switched to AF reef salt. I'll test when I make a new batch of saltwater what the Mag is.

If its still high then I know it's my test kit which is Red Sea. What test kit are you using?

Red sea and salifert

My Mag level was 1343 mg/l from my Triton results I received 2 days ago. When I test using my Red Sea kit it has never been below 1500....hmmm

My lithium level are off the charts! Hopefully switching to AF products will lower it. Is Lithium present in their reef salt or their components 123? I bought bucket of it did my first water change last week. Triton stated the my supplements and or salt mix is contaminated or can be from artificial rock/ceramics or food. I'm using ESV 2-part and ESV Mag and used IO salt mix. I never thought they would have been contaminated! My Li is 562 ug/l and the set point is 200 ug/l.

Its not listed in their product composition so I will say don't know. Also, I read from few articles that IO has the highest amount of Li. Sometime it can leach from your ceramics or food source too.

Funny, lithium came up yesterday in another person's Trition's results. It's a side-affect of long-term ESV use. The expert Randy said it's likely not a problem at elevated levels in this thread (post #15).

Awesome, thanks!

My silicon level was also really really high. I just bought phosban but now worry about it leaching Al in my tank. Anybody been using phosban and found high levels of Al in their thank? I guess once it's done, I'll switch to rowaphos and keep using that to ease my mind with no potential of Al leaching in my tank.
