Hey guys. I just got a new aquamaxx 1.5 and correct me if I'm wrong but the yellow air line that goes into either the short inlet or long inlet is supposed to be a silencer right? My problem is if I disconnect the yellow line it's much more quiet. Don't know if I'm doing this right or if it is ok to just leave it be.
Thanks for any assistance.

Bottom line is it’s a loud skimmer. Take the silencer out, take it apart and then reassemble tightening well. Also, if you want it to be absolutely silent, make an external silencer as salt will creep into the silencer and it’ll make noise after a week or so. I have mine plumbed to an IceCap scrubber and it is completely silent. Other than noise, it’s phenomenal.

Ok cool thanks. Also was wondering if I really need to connect the air line to the silencer or can I just let it hang out.

Also will the bubbles get more dense when the skimmer breaks in? Right now it's like I'm boiling water on the stove.
Best way I can describe it.
