Never stick anything but plastic in your display tank to clean the glass. This ensures anything going in the aquarium doesn't have a higher composite hardness than your glass, scratching it on contact.
Never use magnetic glass cleaners. Just a matter of time before a particle makes it's way between the magnet and the glass, might be magnetic, might not, but eventually it will happen.
Use tissues, a tissue box near the tank, with a spray bottle of vinigar, the tissues have the bonus of being neatly packaged, plentiful and are importantly clean and free from debris which can be used to wipe the exterior of tank glass. The aquarium glass is not a corrective eye lense, you won't ever scratch the outside with a regular tissue. Positioning of the tank is important for family traffic purposes like brushing against the glass accidentally and accessibility for maintenance should be made as easy as reasonably possible, with a lower from for access to the aquascape, aquascaping should be taken very seriously every time something is shifted and placed inside the tank. If anything is going to scratch your glass, it's likely going to be the Aquscape so use extreme, serious caution with placement and stability of aquascapes.
