New Aquarium: What am I missing?

Hello all,

I am going to upgrade my Reefer 170 to a Reefer 525XL. Here is a list of what I am going to get:

• Radion XR30W G3 Pro x 3
• Vertex Skimmer (what size do you recommend?)
• Neptune WAVE x 4
• DOS Doing Pump for 2 part
• Vertex Zeolite reactor

What else should I think about getting?

I don't know much about that setup but IMO more skimming is better than less, particularly if you plan to have lots of fish.

ATO, Reefer Series ATO's are a notorious pain point. Especially if you want to run kalk.

The vertex 150 would probably work well. The 180i may be a little overkill depending on your bio-load but it's got the internal pump which saves a ton of room in the sump.

Thanks! I live in a home with AC so not really worried about the chiller, but I have been looking at an ATO. Any recommendations? I heard the Tunze is a good one. I was also looking at the one from AvastMarine.

Ya I was looking at the 180i, since I wanted to put a Refug in the sump...somehow..lol One thing the reefer tank is missing. I was also looking into the Skimz oval skimmers. They look nice, but have not seen much feedback on them

Don't have any direct recommendations on ATO's, using my aquarium controller for that now. Even if your house is aced I would still use a heater to maintain a temperature.

Ya I have three heaters on my current system...just won't need the chiller.

I've been using the same Tunze 3155 for about 3 1/2 yrs. never had a problem with it.

Those MP10s may not give you enough flow. You may want to upgrade to an MP40.
