Hello all Ive finally gotten around to setting up my mini reef. I have around 1.5 inch of live sand and 30lbs of live rock in the main display and chaeto and miracle mud in the fuge. My tank has cycled for one month before i added anything to aquarium. As of now i have 2 small pink clowns, 1 LTA and a few pieces of coral. I also have a goby and a pistol shrimp and a Lawn mower goby. I test using hanna checkers to insure stability in the system and do weekly water changes if i notice anything is off. This tank will be a primarily sps heavy tank. Are there any easy sps corals i could add before i get acros? I currently have a few frags from a local pet store. Current tank conditions

I think most people consider stylophora corals to be among the most forgiving SPS.

Ok thanks... i have a few pieces in my tank. I had my lights set to 35% but i think thats 2 much light as some pieces are bleaching. Ironically i have another piece higher in the tank that appears to be fine.

I strive for 5-10ppm NO3 and a trace of PO4. Most all coral do much better with some "liquid" nutrient. (NO3 mostly and a little PO4)

Most of your "forgiving" corals are going to bleach with a ton of light where your other more light dependent corals will not. Placing corals correctly is a huge part in keeping them happy. Also, I like to had Red Sea Coral Energy every night for my nutrients and while keeping my levels low. Just my 2 cents

Stylos are pretty simple. As long as you light acclimate them you can have them anywhere. Word to the wise if your not getting into the super crazy acros, put the stylos, montis, and birdnest mid tank level, other sps higher

Too late......

Dang um you can pry them off but I wouldn't. Turn the lights down idk what they are at but maybe 10% less and eventually, like a couple months from now, get back to present light level.
