This is the last of my new fish that isn't eating yet. I'm sure it will, since I've seen it strike at food, and then spit it out. But generally, when do they start to eat? These fish were an online purchase.

Brine shrimp and mysis with garlic, and ocean nutrition formula one.

Also three days is not that long, moving to a new tank can be stressful for fish. If it gets to 5-7 days I would begin to worry but as long as the fish still looks/acts healthy you are ok.

I've tried without garlic as well, it just seems to be very nervous, so I will probably add some unglazed clay pots tomorrow, hoping it feels more comfortable with more hiding places. It was out in the open earlier swimming.

Ours would not eat Garlic pellets, Flakes or New life spec.
Only eats Brine shrimp.

Mine will only eat small brine shrimp and live black worms.
They are tank raised from divers den so you would think they would eat other stuff, but no! I purchased mine as a "bonded pair", yet they hated each other from day one.. Go figure.

Where did you purchase them from /ask them what they were eating this might help / also did you see them eat before purchasing

I have their cousins, the pajamas, and they too are picky eaters. They only eat shrimp....mysis (frozen or freeze dried), and "people" shrimp chopped up from you local fish monger. I've never tried brine.

Sorry, I met small Mysis shrimp as well. When I feed reef frenzy, they will pick out the tiny shrimp bits but won't touch the other stuff.

I contacted the seller to see what it was eating. He suggested live brine shrimp, unfortunately there isn't. Store close to me that sells them. Still isn't eating as of this morning,

Anyone sell black worms near you? If they don't get a eating response nothing will! The males go weeks without eating when they are holding the eggs, so don't sweat a few days without eating.

Today it picked at food, but then spite it out, so at least it shows interest in food.

How about telling us what you do have available to you? I'm sure it's hungry but your not feeding the correct foods. They don't like pellets or flakes! Go to the grocery store, but a raw shrimp, chop it up real fine and feed a tiny bit.

I'm not sure the grocery stores sells raw shrimp. But I check. We have a pet store that sells some frozen food, I know it carries blood worms, in addition to brine and mysis, I will stop there too. I don't feed flakes or pellets, I don't think my fish would know what to do with it. I think the problem is that the seller feeds live brine shrimp, i don't have access to live food. I've seen it picking at the glass, so I'm guessing it's picking at pods.

I would be willing to try it, I'm just not sure I would get it in time. I may try a homemade hatchery, but the people at the closest shop said they require very warm water and tend to have a low hatch rate.
