It's awesome. I am extreamly happy with mine, and I hope you will be too. Keep us updated on your build!

Going to do a build thread at some point but want to get further along

What is up with the bottom seams of the Bashsea sump? Im in the market for a new sump and I've been looking into these sumps. In almost all the pictures and videos I see of the Bashsea sump, I notice that the bottom seams aren't clean. Or is it just me?

I just received my smart series yesterday and was looking online to see if my seams were "normal" . So I'm guessing it is . Even so, its one heck of a sump . Looks amazing on the outside and well made. It will be awhile before it gets wet as I am waiting for the release of the new Innovative marine 112 !!

IM112 is available for special order. Mine should be delivered in the next week or two. I picked up a Bashsea 30x18x16 smart series for mine. I was going to go the custom sump route but came across a deal I couldn't pass up on for the Bashsea. I couldn't be happier with the Bashsea. Very nice quality. Better than Trigger, Eshopps and the other cookie cutter sumps out there.

Not sure what you mean about the bottom seams? Maybe the only difference is that every edge has been routed to a 45° angle, to make it a very nice finish with no sharp edges.

I believe the internal seams is what is questionable. Here is a pic of mine. Maybe not the cleanest, but I won’t care once the sump is filled with water.

That's what mine look like . No worries because its an awesome sump !

I believe that is the access acrylic glue/weld, which is a good thing. You dont want to skimp on that. I dont think that's a big deal, but I guess you could say its aesthetically not pleasing. But I dont think anyone will care about that in the future.

Totally agree.

Lol for real?! I'm looking at getting one now. What's wrong with the media reactors?
They have a terrible design. I bought three to match my sump and dumped my BRS reactors.....I wish I had those back lol. The design is horrible. The lid fits over a 3/4" pvc tube that is supposed to direct the water to the bottom of the reactor, where it then is forced upwards through the media. First issue is half of the water doesn't make it down through the tube because it isn't air tight.....you can see it pouring directly into the reactor chamber if that makes sense. Also, there is a rubber O-ring that holds the upper media plate and sponge in place so that the water being forced upwards doesn't push everything to the top. The O-ring is extremely difficult to get on and pushed down. I have to use two wooden spoons and try to force it all the way down on the tube because my hand doesn't fit into the chamber. This only applies to the carbon since it needs to be sandwiched between the two sponges but it is ridiculously cumbersome to change the media.

^^^^Does that go for the Bio Pellet reactors as well?
That I am not sure......I can only speak regarding these.........

They look great......but I wouldn't never buy them again. I have actually tried contacting Bashsea three times now asking for clarification on the "proper" way to set them up but have not heard anything back. You can see the blue tube in the middle reactor. The top is supposed to direct all the water down through that tube...only about half of it actually makes it in there....the rest just pours into the top, never being pushed through the media. Also, if you don't push the o ring down that tube, the up-flow of water just pushes the blue tray straight up. Sorry, didn't mean to make this a bash Bashsea thread lol.....their sumps really are nice though :)

That surprises me, because everything else is so well built. Hopefully they fix/change that flaw.
