Hi All,

I would need some help on this Bernardpora, i believe it should be Bernardpora instead of Gonio right?
I got this like 3 days back, i placed them on sand bed with mid flow, but I never see it extend any polyps.
After a day, I move them to a low flow area with semi shaded but it still doesn't extend any polyps.
All my other corals doesn't have any issue. Does doing any coral feeding could enticing it to open polyps?

Thanks

I have found with Goni and these types of corals that dipping them in a Lugol’s iodine solution does wonders for them, especially when first putting them in your tank IUs 60 drops for 2 gallons of water. I put them in a bucket with a small powerhead for 15 minutes. I rinse them with tank water and put them back in my tank usually within a couple days the Polyp are back out. I also do this for maintenance for my goni every few months as well, and they all seem to do better after this

Here is a picture of only a few of my Goni and the circled one is Bernard so you know I’m not just making this up

Does it must be Lugol's iodine, or any iodine solution should work as well?
Since its already been in the tank for few days, if i taking it out now to do the dip will it bring a sudden shock to the coral itself?

Good advice

Any iodine will work.

No it will not shock it any more than it already looks, it may help, it should be done but don't leave it out of the water excessively. Good luck

I’ve only used the Lugals at that dosage for this. Im sure others work but I don’t know how much to use is all. No there will not be any shock from this I do it all the time. Matter fact, I have a specific bucket for it that is already marked and the pump with the bucket that I keep together to use lol
