Hi - new member of R2R here ... thanks for letting me join. I've been developing my first saltwater aquarium using a BioCube 14 with mostly good results. I have two clownfish, an emerald crab, two turbo snails, and a couple more snails that live under my live sand. I have two pieces of live rock and ... well it's all pretty cool and our kids love it. We've lost a few turbo snails, a couple of shrimp, and a porcelain crab along the way, but we test the water weekly and do a 10% water change weekly as well and the water seems to have stabilized.

Lately we've been getting lots of green algae and our animals can't seem to keep up so ... i've moved to purified water and am keeping the lights on "night blue" mode more hours of the day.

We'd like to jazz the tank up with more plants or animals but are sort of tiptoeing so we don't upset the chemistry of the cube ...

thoughts for a newbie are most welcome!

Welcome! would love to see some pictures of the tank! yea using RODI water will make a huge difference in your tank! :D

How long has your tank been up and running? Patience is the key with this hobby so you definitely dont want to add things too fast. We would love to see some pics of your cube! What kind of equipment are you running with it?

Welcome to R2R!!! Post up some pictures if possible it may help Id what algae you're dealing with. Try keeping up on water changes using rodi and manually remove what you can. Best of luck!

*Welcome to Reef2Reef,@gyakazuki!* It sounds like you are at maximum capacity as far as livestock goes. You should be able to add some hardy corals like zoas or mushrooms in the near future.
