So I just got my brand spanking new Biocube 29 and it is my first tank. My question is about the lighting. There are 2 strips of white fluorescent lights, 2 strips of blue fluorescent lights, and 3 blue LEDs. Should all of the 3 types of lights be on at the same time? I have a book about aquariums but it only talks about different types of lights and not really how they are used. I wanted to put them on timers. How long should each type be on per day? should on the blue lights be no at night and the white ones during the day? please help!

The blue LED's are for nighttime. The blue fluorescent can be used for actinic (run alone to replicate dusk and dawn) and the white for daylight. You can run all the fluorescent lights together. I would just run the white for 6-8 hours. If you want to get into a full blown reef, I would upgrade the lights.
