Latest addition I bought yesterday a Red Scribbled Blenny Blenny (Cirripectes stigmaticus), Ignore the spot it was on the tank glass and the pic was taken in the LFS. I have been after one for a while and my LFS got 3 in, one was sold before I got there. I bought the other 2 one for my buddy.

After all these years, I can't say I have seen this fish before. Nice one!

He's a beauty for sure. Just curious, but did you quarantine him before you put him in the display?

I have never quarantined a fish in 35 years of keeping them and have not had a white spot etc outbreak in the last 25 years. I put that down to propper food and feeding which enables my fish to ward off the likes of WS. I am sure I have introduced the likes of WS into my tank but although I may have seen the odd spot there has never been a serious outbreak in any of my tanks since. Too much to go into here as to exactly what I mean by correct foods and feeding however.

Thanks for your reply. The reason I asked is because the fish you're buying in the U.K. might be healthier than what we purchase here in the US.

I've just recently had a battle with velvet in my display and that was the first time that's ever happened to me. I've never quarantined before in all my 30 years of fish-tanking. I seriously think something is wrong with the fish-sellers out there or perhaps something wrong with our oceans. Who knows???

With that said, I will quarantine everything wet before it enters my display.

Hope your new Blenny stays happy and healthy in his forever home. [emoji227]

Well I can't confirm either way on the comparison of healthy stock each side of the Atlantic but I can tell you there are many of the UK forums who have issues with the likes of white spot in particular. I do know many of the LFSs here have copper in thier fish stock systems and or run UV on them. I do dip my corals now as a preventitive measure however. With my fish I just equalise the waters temperature of the fish in the bag with that of my tank by floating it for half an hour or more.

He is gorgeous. I usually see these sold as "Ember Blenny, Super Male" in the US. I had one and he never took to eating frozen, just grazed on my rocks. I hope you have better luck, they are such stunning fish!!

Mr Blenny has put in an appearance today and is eating, still a bit shy which is understandable however, I did manage a quick pic of him with his head sticking out of a hole in the rock. Sorry about the quality as I used my phone and had to zoom in on it as quickly as I could. I am sure over the next few days I will be able to get some better pic's of him.
