Picked up a few new fish on Sunday, everything was looking good, all eating frozen food no problem. Came home tonight and started feeding and this new 4-inch blue reef chromis starts eating right away, then all of a sudden freezes up and torpedos to the bottom of the tank dead.

Never seen anything like it... anybody else have a similar experience with a new fish?

I dropped him in some FW to see if any visible parasites came out, did a good inspection, everything looked good. Fins where in good shape, color was good, eyes clear, etc.

A local very experienced store owner claims he has seen fish just fall over dead as if they've had a stroke, numerous times.
Typically new fish in a high stress environment.
