We just purchased a blue throat trigger from divers den. Plan to do tank transfer method. Any hints to help us keep this fish happy and healthy?

Aclimate to qt administer bath with quick cure before releasing dose chlorine phosphate 15-25ppm until qt is over just before adding him to your display remove chloriquine and dose praziquantal bullet proof. Ps. I run at 1.008 in qt.

Thanks for the advice! Where do you get your chloroquine?

If it were my blue throat I would do salinity match, then plop and drop in my display.

Generally most online orders will come with relatively low salinity as low as 1.008 if you try to match the salinity by aclimating the fish to a higher salinity more than .001 per day it can be very rough on the fish even kill them. If by match you mean make the salinity of the qt the same as the water the fish is in when you receive it then your on the right track. Fish can handle a substantial drop in salinity much easier than a rise in salinity. I like to run in hypo because it has many benefits for instance most but not all parasites cant handle hypo one example of an exception is marine velvet. However even though Velvet wont be killed by hypo it helps with healing, makes it easier for the fish to maintain osmotic balance when the membrane is damaged by tomites, can help antibiotics work a bit better, easier to breathe etc.

These two videos are very accurate the second is Charlie Gregory and my vet.
