Thoroughly enjoyed this book. At only 108 pages it was a quick read for sure. After reading it once I went back and read it a second time and marked the book all up just like I was back in school. I love when I get my hands on a book that compels me to “actively” read.
Filtration is the subject of this book and Bob does a superb job in systematically detailing the real facts of mechanical, chemical and biological Filtration elements. No corporate bias here. The true beauty of this book lies in the education of the reader on the biochemical micro process that occurs in sandbeds of closed systems. If you thrive in knowing the “whys” and “how’s” of how something works this book is a must read. So if you have tried a half dozen bio media’s, carbon dosing, have the largest slimmer you can and a tired of starving your fish give this a read. You might just find out why the bulk of those thousands of Filtration dollars spent we probably not necessary and allocate most of the Filtration power to biological addressing biological faults in the system setup!
