Howdy all

I’m picking up a used oceanic 58 that is currently used for freshwater, tomorrow.

dude, removed the overflow weir and capped the drilled holes. (Pic is from before it was removed)

My plan is to uncap the holes and install a Dursa pipe and return.

Ive never had a bottom drilled tank… is the piece that separates the tank from the pipes (what I would call the weir) watertight?
I had planned on 3d printing one, but if it needs to be watertight, I might laser cut acrylic for it. Also not sure how careful I need to be siliconing it in.

thanks for any info!
(Also, does one need to use Aquarium silicone, or is there stuff at Lowe’s that would work?)
