I got a new Two-Spot Bristletooth Tang, he ignores everything except Frozen Angel Formula. So if someone has problems get one to Eat, I’d try that.

Give him a week, he’ll be eating anything you put in the tank!

A Kole tang will typically eat MassStick right away. I believe this is because MassStick matches the Kole’s eating habits and the odor attracts the fish. I use the pre-made “pellets”.

I use this as well. My Kole prefers this rolled+folded and attached to a clip.

Any fish classed as a herbivore is a true herbivore, I don’t understand what you mean by this. I agree with how they eat a lot of algae (Not just seaweed), this species doesn’t seem to eat as much variety of algae though, mine only eats the short hair algae and film algae on the glass. The foxface eats the most algae out of the two though.

Bristletooth genus is made up of detrivores. They don't eat the same stuff as other tangs. Some in captivity don't eat very well.

There are good options above. The idea is to just keep trying things.

Exactly. That is why I think MassStick is a good food to get a Kole started on. And also the purple seaweed mentioned above. My Kole and Blue Star wrasse like both of these (I see the Blue Star eating seaweed right now).

This is the same with mine, except he eats anything (I own Ctenochaetus binotatus instead of the average kole tang because if I’m honest, the common koles are just boring due to how often they’re seen IMO). My tank has a constant controlled algae bloom so there’s always some algae on the back for my foxface and tang to graze on. I have a total of 11, eventually 13 fish in this tank with a water change once every week. My tank is a 4’x2’x2’ (The second 2 is rounded up from 18”).

I do add a certain amino/vitamin blend to the nori by adding the drops while rolling/folding the nori. I would not say that this will get a fish to start eating but it does seem once the tang gets to the vitamins he picks up pace!

As @i cant think me mentions, there are other interesting Ctenochaetus tangs. My spotted Kole is beautiful and somewhat unique, I suppose. But the Convict is striking with silver and the vertical bars, plus it will eat Ulva if you are ever cursed to have that in your tank!
