New Brute trash can-safe to use?

We use Brut cans all the time. Like everything else, clean it real good and it is ready for your R/O water.

I'm sure someone will say something about BPAs in plastics and if it isn't food grade that its not safe and all of that, but I do think that a ton of us, myself included, use brute trash cans for just this purpose.

No BPA's in Brutes.....simply polyethylene! Some are actually food grade. I've been using them for years.

Yeah I wouldn't worry. I use a green yard waste can that the city gives you and I haven't had one issue for over a year now and I have left water stored in it for a couple weeks before. Plus everyone that I know has a brute trash can for their water storage

Agreed ! Iv'e used them for years. For a brand new can, I'd rinse it real good & wipe it out with a vinegar soaked cloth in case of any preservative or such after making them.

Both Rubermaid Brutes and Toters are made from HDPE5 which IS food grade.

But definitely clean it first. At a place like Home Depot they are sold next to leaking bags of pesticides, birds pooping on them, etc. [emoji23]
