new bubble magus 5 loud noise with crazy overflowing!

Its been so loud from day one and overflowing crazy amount of water.
I know it needs to break in but its overflowing that i cant even put a top lid due to overflow!
I tried lower and higher depth but nothing helps.
I heard its really quiet but mine makes really huge bubble sound i just cant stand of it!
I heard alot of good reviews with this skimmer but my first day of experience no so good!
I will try to break in for a few days but is this normal to make such a loud noise and crazy amounts of overflowing?

Not sure, but I don’t think it’s normal. I just set mine up yesterday (same exact skimmer) replacing a cheap one that used a wooden air stone. Mine has been quiet and I haven’t had any over flow. I have it set at about 8” which is where all the research I have read says it should be, not the 9”-11” the bubblemangus recommends, and have the dial set on max.
Are you sure you have it all set up correct? Is the silencer secured to the airline well?
I don’t know, just throwing some things out there.

i have mine at 7inch dial set on max.It started overflowing crazy amounts of water from day 1. Silencer is also secured. I just change the depth to 5inch and hope this do the trick. Also the motor itself isnt that loud but the bubble created by motor is really loud that i could hear from other side of the room.

Not all skimmer are exactly the same in regards to break ins. Leave the lid off and let it overflow into the sump for a few days. As for the noise, give it a few day’s too. Motor has been sitting there for months on the shelf most likely. Just needs some natural lube.
