New bubble tip hidding

Tuesday night I picked up at rainbow bubble tip. Wednesday it was on a rock then Thursday it went behind the rocks. I seen it Friday back in the rocks open then Sat and today I can not find it.

I have read this can be normal but really? This long?

Funny you posted this. I just purchased a RBTA on Saturday and when I did finally get it to attach to the rock, it wondered right under an overhand and dug its foot in and hunkered down in the shade.

This is very typical of BTAs and they will venture back out on their own to gradually increase their lighting.

You should still be able to see it. If you don't see it popping out in a day or two, it is worth looking (carefully if you need to move rocks). Your rock work looks very new (no algae) and anemones certainly have a better track record in more established tanks.

Keep us up to date when you can snap a picture of it again.

I found him, he looks healthy just behind my rocks in a new spot. I guess the only way to move him by redirecting flow? I put a plastic lid over an area that will turn down the light. I’m hoping this will make him move out front

Very cool. They like to hide and acclimate to the new lighting conditions. Glad he is doing well.

Here is mine I got Saturday. He was covered by his "mother" and a little bleached but he'll do great.

A few days ago I found him again! He was behind the rocks. I put something on my lid to shade the area he was sitting, thinking he would move. Sure enough he moved and moved fast lol. He then was up front down in the rocks, I shaded that area and pop he came right out to the light!

He looks healthy and well! Took almost a week to get him out front and centered Now I need my clowns to jump in him.

Don't force it to move. It will find its own happy spot. Also keep in mind that if you change flow or lighting, it may move again. Stability and no changes are the best way to keep them in 1 place.....once they find that place!
The clowns may or may not ever find it. I have always tried to feed my nems once a week at least. worked for me.

Thanks. Looks like he's in a happy place now. I was just putting a cloud over his head Not anymore, the sun is shinning!

Hi all- I just got a bubble tip last night and we thought it was attached to the rock, but found it this morning behind a rock. Should I just leave it alone? I'm just worried it won't get enough light back there, plus I can't even really see it to enjoy it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Dont worry, be happy now...

It will come out to play when it's ready. Mine took almost 2 weeks. Its completely normal.
