New build 40b w/3ftx3ft frag Tank.

Working on a build with a big frag Tank and I will have a 40 b connected all one system. I some how got this whole room from my wife to convert into a fish room. Lucky me

. Just got the frag Tank today used. Here are pictures of what i'm working on. Making water and getting ready to fill it up tonight or tomorrow

hey you stole my rubbermaid bin with all those mismatched fittings in it your fish room looks like mine with crap everywhere lol... Anyways what you going to use that 40b for? sump? Sweet looking tank, what size is it? what kind of lighting are you going to use?

haha i thought i picked up the room a little still looking dirty. There a lot of crap all over my fish room haha. The tank is 36x36x12. i have a sunlight supply 250watt halide that i will use just for high noon type lighting 3-4 hours a day max. I am currently building 2x12inch makers DIY led. Waiting for all the parts to some in. I just bought a reef angle and this will control my leds im building. I ended up ordering the solderless 48 led kit. Doing 24 RB 12whites 4 red 4 green 4 uv. The 40b i plan on putting it next to the tank as my display tank. i have a couple sumps right now there is just a old ehopps sump under there. I want to have the frag tank and 40b all on one system. not really sure how i will do this just figuring it all out as i go with my huge box of connections lol. this tank was from a LFS my friend bought and he broke it down and sold it to me cheap. 200 for the whole set pumps power heads sump ect ect. and threw in the wave maker that is amazing for random flow. ill update more as i do my led build and start putting livestock in.

I really like the dimensions of the frag tank. Sounds like you got an awesome deal on it to, congrats. Now I just need to figure out how you convinced your wife to let you have a whole room for fish stuff. I'm lucky to get one wall of a room lol.

New update
just got the halide hung now I can start breaking down my 29g and set up the 40 breeder that I will be upgrading to. My diy leds are coming along. Here are some pics. Also i'm not sure how I got a whole room. I set the room up as a study for our school work but after a year of very little use I staked my claim as "my fish room"

Been working hard all day trying to get my frag Tank set up and get my 29g transferred into the frag Tank. one led fixture is built and fired up. Today I got my new 14k halide bulb in and it.looks great. Here are a few pics. Also switched out sumps which was a pain in by behind :banghead: my fish room is destroyed lol smells like the ocean in there

Update finished my diy led so far hung one to see how it looks. Also broke down the 29g, I have the stand and new 40b Tank ready to be painted and Plumbed. I have an idea I have not seen it done, I want a bb Tank so I plan on putting a layer of silicone covering the bottom and then dumping a bag of black sand and pressing it into the silicone. Letting it dry and dumping the excess out. I think it will work out pretty good. I hope. The colors are hard to capture on a cell pic it's a nice 14k ish look.

Big update Coral growth and the DIY cree leds are the best. I added a second sump connected directly to the drip filter with a PVC tube and to bulk heads. Well after redoing the plumbing for the return pipe for a larger pump up graded to a mag9.5 The bulk head wouldnt seal right and leaked. after working 2 days on getting these sumps to hook up i about had it!! i threw my skimmer in the tank and walked a way for a few days and didnt go in my fish room. To my surpise ALL corals looked GREAT too good. The tank was tust running of its own body of water with maybe 20pnds of rock and it has a BB. Tthe reff octo was chuging out nastyniess. my goal with this tank is to house corals and have them ready to put into my 3 future tanks a 110 tall, 125 rimless 6 foot long. and a 40b. i want a SPS tank, ZOA tank and a BTA tank. well ill stop babbling here are a ton of pics.
Im growing a ZOA garden allways loved how they look all matted in one big bunch
