New Build Deep Blue 57 rimless

Hello all!

Unfortunately i had to sell my 90G, when i moved i just did not have the room.

Good news is i was able to pick up a Deep Blue 57G rimless.

I have ordered the following already

1. Tank of course
2. Stand
3. Reef Octopus 150SSS skimmer
4. Eshoppes RS75 sump
5. Eheim Pump
6. EcoTech MP40
7. SmartATO

That being said, i have 2 concerns and need some input.

1. What lights ? 1 Radion XR30 or Maxpect 160W?
2. How should i mount the Radion if i get it? It be ok with one and a wide angel lens kit?
3. Hows everyone on the noise level of a rimless ? Any tricks or tip to make it as silent as possible? This will be right in my living room

I recommend getting a good overflow kit. Mine is in my living room as well. It makes a some noise, but nothing I am bothered by. Please let me know when you start your build thread. I'd love to follow along.

Did you buy another overflow kit other than the one that came with the tank?

Mine didn't come with one. I bought the MegaFlow from my LFS. I'm very pleased with it. Like I said it makes some noise, but nothing that bothers me.

There's a few threads on DIY hanging around the forum. Ecotech also makes one that mounts to the back of the tank. For my build I had a welder make me brackets to hang my t5 fixture from to keep the clean rimless look. Best of luck moving forward I think you're really going to like the 57

Do you think the one eco tech makes would mount it high enough to spread the whole tank

I don't really have much experience with that particular light or mount so I'm not too sure. Wish I could be more help there. If height is a concern I would look into making something. I have seen some nice ones done with bent conduit, but that may be hard with the tank filled. Also look into using some kind of "shelf bracket" coming 90 degrees off the wall to hang the light from. Let me see if I can find the thread I'm thinking of for you.

I'd go with the Radions, they are are sweet....my fish guy a a 60 rimless with 1 XR 30 Pro and it's amazing. ..

The RMS, mount is nice and sleek, or do y he hanging kit..

Yeah I'm going to do a xr30 and hanging kit and hang it from cables coming from ceiling I think

Timtim! Any chance you can do me a huge favor?? Can you measure how far the return and drain holes are from the sides and back I am wanting this tank but I need to make sure it works with my stand. If you can see the holes from in the stand and could take a picture as well I will be forever greatful
