I went through Hurricane Harvey last year and lost my tank. I'm starting to think about a new build. I have a question. Where I want my tank to go is open to the living room on one side and the kitchen on the other. I want both sides to be for show. I.E. I don't want to see return pipes, overflow, etc. Any suggestions? There are no walls on the sides just a half wall where the back of the aquarium would be. Do they make tanks for this purpose? If so, where would the overflows go and return pipe? Thanks for your feedback in advance.

You should look into a Peninsula tank. Red Sea and other manufacturers make these tanks with the returns at the narrow end of the tank.

If you kept it simplistic, you could go sumpless & skimmerless and would not need to plumb anything.

Buy a tank with bulkheads in the bottom. In that manner, refugium can be located remotely with piping hidden below tank.

I was house shopping a few months ago and saw a beautiful setup with one side open to kitchen and the other side was open to a family room. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any pictures, but they essentially finished the ends from floor to ceiling creating a division between the rooms, with finished cabinets underneath (sump, etc.) in the family room side. It wouldn’t have been cheap to do but it was beautiful.
Closest picture I could find is below in white (no “wall” on the left side.
Also something you are describing with an existing ledge
