Hi all,

Well, I'm finally starting to move on my new setup and was hoping to get some input on a couple topics...
1) Substrate - I previous had a deep sand bed (3-4") of fine sand and although it looked great when it was clean it was difficult to keep clean and I was told that without sufficient turnover it can become toxic... So this time I am thinking of going with a more course substrate like aragonite. Thoughts/recommendations???

2) The new system I purchased is a Red Sea Reefer 350 (really nice tank, rimless, ultra clear glass, auto top- off, etc). It has a 73 gal display & I was planning to get an Ecotec powerhead, would I be better with one Mp40 or two Mp10 units? I plan to keep mostly softies so high flow would not be needed as much. Thoughts?

I'm sure I will have more questions as I start the setup and I will try to post some progress pics....

Thx!

if you want softies vortech is a bit overkill, in terms of price I mean. For someone with an SPS tank, the vortechs control and power make it worth the price, but for someone like you with softies a koralia will do IMO
