Yes, this is my first clownfish pair.

Yeah video doesn’t work… if you want to, make a YouTube account and upload video there then copy the link and click on the little chain looking icon above where you make posts and insert the copied YouTube link into that and post it. But most likely, by morning or afternoon tomorrow they will be acting like normal is my guess if this is your first pair of clownfish and they are in a new tank.

couldn't see the video but I probably leave them alone sounds like they're getting use to the tank . just resting just keep an eye on your salinity and temp .

I’m thinking they are fine. I think it’s just typical weird clownfish behavior. It can be stressful but I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it

Hi - I bought a clownfish pair today. They are in my QT. They were very active in the LFS tank. When I put them in the QT they looked fine. But after 3 hours, the female can't stay straight. It falls to the side. The male does the same but not as frequently as the female. Do I need to worry? A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Were they seemed to be very active at the LFS because they were stressed?

How were fish acclimated to your tank and how and for how long?
Are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet?
What is your current salinity and ammonia level?

Thank you . Youtube is processing my video, and it seems to take ages. Meanwhile, I fed them, and both of them ate. It seems like the female was really hungry.

Anyway, I left them in the tank for 20 mins in the bag, and then I drip-acclimated them for about 45 mins. I am using RODI water. The salinity is 1.025, and no readings on the ammonia. The temperature is 25 degrees.

I calibrate my refractometer with distilled water. Could it be off? What if the salinity is higher or lower?

When I fed them, they both ate I guess that's a good sign.

I have also attached a photo (the quality is not great because the lights are dimmed).

This fish may come around but on refractometer, distilled does not work- you want actually calibration fluid which is reasonable priced
On acclimation, while I don’t favor drip, you want to match the salinity of the bag with that of the tank and equalize them to avoid chance of osmotic shock
Addition of an airstone will help them settle in

It sounds like just some stressed clowns with nowhere to hide (from the photo it looks like they are in a container?). Sometimes clowns will sit on the bottom much like they may sit on a nem.

Thank you for the response. Yes, they are in a big plastic box. I have PVC fittings in there for them to hide

PVC is popular but is kind of scary for them as it’s unnatural looking although captive clowns are more used to human oddities.

Ahhh I am going to order calibration fluid (still learning). I checked with the LFS before I setup, and I matched the salinity/temperature accordingly, but if my refractometer is off, then that is an issue.

Hi all - Just noticed that my thread was moved here. Update on the clownfish; They are swimming around a bit more now. The male doesn't seem to want to eat unlike in the morning. The female still falls to the side but less frequently.
