well my first build is coming along good, just about ready for sand and rock. Looking for advise on good materials. I was thinking about using carib-sea agra-live Fuji pink sand, any suggestions?

I think sand color is personal opinion, but I would def. Go with live sand. How big is your tank?

I have personally been using MarcoRocks.com for dry rock for a while and love it. Just ordered his sand for my latest build and I am fond of it as well. Not as pretty as pink but I like the mix of fine and coarse and it's a nice white color.... Besides roughly $1/lb is not bad. I got 2 of the the 30-35# boxes and ended up with 72#s of sand for $60 so I was happy with the savings. Really had to rinse it good though. I'll attach a pic of it in the tank before I added water.

I'll have to look into that, thx

+1 on the Marco rocks, they also have some nice cut stuff that stacks. Also get their cement to put the rock together, and some threaded nylon rod, if you want to build structures.

lol, sorry. Jason have you used their sand? looks like there is a lot of pretty fine particles in the photo.

There was sand previously but tropic eden from premium aquatics, but all that was removed. What you will find is the rock will shed for a month. That picture is just a few days in.
