I've been on r2r for a few years now, but have been in and out of the hobby due to moving alot. Now that I'm settled down (for the time being) I'm back at it. I currently run a 75 Gallon Freshwater Planted Tank with a DIY sump and LED lighting. Now that it is running relatively smoothly, I'm concentrating more on the 20 Gallon Reef I started building a couple weeks ago. It's cycling rather quickly so we'll see how long until some livestock comes home, (probably a few more weeks at least). This forum has been a great resource and I look forward to getting help from the active and experienced members found here.

Welcome back to the salt. Judging by the planted tank, you will end up with a good looking reef!!!

Thanks, hopefully that's true. The planted tank had a rather expensive casualty last weekend, the blue pearlscale veil angelfish died with no warning or obvious reason. Her mate, the larger chocolate veil, is currently being medicated for some kind of fungus he developed after she died, and hasn't eaten in a few days. Hopefully things clear up soon.

The plans for the reef are some soft corals, a clownfish or two, with a clean up crew. We'll try to keep it simple for the first year or two.
