new buy

i just picked up this piece today. Its a pink montipora cap. it measures 8"x9". i payed $70 for it. just curious if this is a fair price. thanks for any input.

Most people will say that a coral is worth whatever you're willing to pay for it, but honestly that color cap is fairly commonly for sale in smaller frags.

I agree it's "common", however I would say a 8" x 9" one isn't. Typically you see people selling $10 frags of it here and there. For a colony that size, I think $70 is fair. Heck, I have spent more money on single zoo/paly polyps and waaaayyyyy more on 1" x 1" chalice frags.

I agree, it has showpiece proportions. It will grow into a monster showpiece in no time.
 
$70 is a great price for what you got. I have seen pieces of about the same size go for double that. Great looking piece and money well spent.
 
I think you may have something there , posting upside down. Looks cool. If you like it. Buy it!!!!! Price seems fair and thanks for sharing
