New chaeto dip?

I had a ball of chaeto and put a turbo snail in the fudge now my chaeto is almost gone. So I ordered more chaeto. My question is have any of you dipped chaeto in coral rx? I need some options to clean it if potential pests. I'm not worried about pod population on the chaeto as my tank already has a pretty good population of them

I contacted coral rx and they said they didn't recommend dipping with their product since it was supposed to kill algae but that if I decided to try a portion of the chaeto to let them know the results

I believe the quandary we have introducing new macro algae to our DT systems is the potential for any pods carrying ICH tomonts on their exoskeletons. I am quarantining mine along with a new load of snails.

You can do a fresh water dip

Check the qt threads. It's a fallow period. And RX won't kill aptasia. It will kill plants.
If it's flatworms your concerned with. Use flatworm exit.
If your killing Arthropods use interceptor.

Yeah I ordered it from aquarium depot. I've ordered some from them before and it was in the tank during cycle and a long time before any livestock so not much to worry then but now my tank is too valuable to risk it even though I had no problems last time

When i get new cheato i get a white trash bag and put on table then spread out the cheato and then pick through it for bristlesorms or anything i dont wAnt. The trash bag lets you see everything.

My worry would be more so something I couldn't see that might eat corals like acro eating red bugs

I had some cheato for sale. a fully packed quart size bag for $18 shipped, easily 2-3 softball sized when out of the bag. I cant ship next week since I am on vacation but I can the following week if anyone is ever looking for some.
