Got this Clam today, can't remember what its name is, but I wanted to place him in the right spot, I've got him on some LR, I think he can open up all the way, but was reading maybe I should put him in the sandbed with a flat rock under him, but I have a Goby that is a very active digger and didn't think putting the Clam in the sand was a good idea.
So let me know if you know what type of clam he is and how my placement of him is.
Thanks

It would be better to let it attach to a small rock that you can move it around on. It's going to be hard to move it from where it is once it's foot grabs ahold.

I forgot to mention that they do not attach firmly to rock, so you want to be careful with its placement. They can fall over pretty easily.

Put it in the sand bed if you have a modern lighting fixture.

I have kept Derasa in the sand bed on multple tanks with stock PC lighting in Nanos. Stock PC lighting will be fine for a hardy clam like a Derasa. A better lighting system would be better duh, but it's more than doable with what you have. Derasa are not rock boring clams, they do not belong in the rock work.
