Hey everyone. I recently got a pair of small gladiator orange, and a black clowns from Cultivated Reef... Probably 2 or 3 weeks ago now. They're doing great, eating well, and deciding who will be the female. They hang out together constantly.

The black one we've noticed has a cloudy eye on one side. It doesn't seem to affect it. The other eye has been fine. I thought it was cloudy when we received it, but thought it was just a little smudge or something. We didn't qt as they were the only fish added to the system.

Any ideas on what this could be, and how to treat, or just keep up with good water quality?

20g nano. Parameters are all in check. Weekly water changes of 10-15%. Temp 78. Salinity 1.024-1.025.

Thanks!

Can you tell if he can see out if it? I know it’s difficult to tell. Can you look closer to see if it’s a scratch or his eye is injured in any other way?

It’s possible it’s just a cloudy eye and that’s it I’m not sure what caused it but I wouldn’t be to worried about it.

May have been an injury or scrape from being startled . Treatment will help in a quarantine setting using Ethromyacin (maracyn 1) which will help clear it up

Haven't been able to get any meds yet. Did a 20% wc today (and weekly). It's seeming like maybe it can't see well now that it's in both eyes. It looks like it was going for food but would miss.

It does stay with the other clown though, and trying to host any soft coral it comes in contact with.

Really hope this little one recovers. It's gonna be a gorgeous one fully grown.

Any pics how the clown looks today ?

We've got some seachem paraguard at our lfs. May try that to see if it helps in the qt system
Paraguard is missing the thing you need- Ethromyacin

Came back down to feed for the evening and 1 eye is almost completely healed up. Definitely finding and eating food now. The other is still pretty cloudy, but much improved since yesterday!

Tedaviyi seachem paraguard ile mi yaptınız?

Translation: Did you do the treatment with seachem paraguard?

I actually used prazi pro with good water quality.

Unfortunately now, it seems we've moved to mouth rot for this one. He's still eating, but I've never had back to back issues with a fish like this.

Even after qt and medicating, this little clown is on its last few breaths. Seems it had issues from the start.

The other one is doing perfectly fine.

These are both baby clowns. What size should I replace this one with? Bigger or smaller?

What seems to be happening now? What is he doing?
