New clownfish

So I got 2 clowns 4 days ago, I noticed they would lay on sand then later in the day swim normally and I was told thats normal. I now noticed these orange spots on the sand. Could these be from the clowns??

Your sand looks so clean, you sure it’s not just reflection from the lights? My clowns also like to whip its tail and make divots in sand

4 weeks? It’s probably just the beginning of the ugly phase (dinoflagellates… or diatoms. One of the d words ) they’re apart of every tank cycle. Nothing to worry about

Agreed, depending on your source water and nutrient level. You will see a lot of changes to your sand and rocks for sure

Looks like light bounce onto the sand. Are you sure on the readings? I can guess you are using API test kits and would recommend to confirm reading by taking a water sample to a store that does NOT use Api kits and have them test your ammonia and nitrates and compare readings- then you'll know where your levels truly are at
