He was all alone in a tank at my lfs so i kinda had to buy him haha. He also looks kinda disfigured and has bigger back fin than others of his kind at the store

I mean, if you have a 500 gallon tank, you may have much less issues than if you have a 20 gallon tank, but there is a high likelihood that you’ll run into issues, especially as they get bigger.

Your intentions to rescue the lonely fish from the LFS may have been noble, but I’d try to rehome one or the other sooner rather than later.

I have a 32.5 gallon FluvalSmart, is there any possible way they would be fine? I dont feel like returing this fish. They seem to be doing fine.

Two different species of clown. Get rid of one. You’ll most likely have issues. When pairing clowns, stick to the same species

Never had an issue with mixing clowns as long as the larger (female) accepts the smaller (male). One pair did require a custom acclimation box setup where they could be next to each other but not touch for a few weeks. After that they were inseparable.

Only reason I have removed pairs of clowns was when they decided to host in my euphylia garden instead of the BTA and start loving the corals to death...

I just did the same thing i kept my small one in the box for about a day and then i introfuced him. They seem to like each other i think

Just keep an eye on the big girl. Nuzzling and the occasional nip is perfectly normal. If she starts chasing the male around then pick the one you like better and pull the other.
