Hey Everyone,
We went yesterday to pick up our New Clowns. They both were in the same tank at the LFS staying right together. So we got both. I acclimented them last night and put them in the tank. They are eating fine and staying right next to each other like best friends. Only concern I have is they will not go out and explore. They are staying at the Top of the Tank by the back corner. They swim out about 5 inches and then back to the corner. Is this normal? Will they Snap out of it and go explore? If this is normal, how long does it usually take them to figure it out? Thanks

Also I just noticed that when the little one goes up next to the bigger one it kinda twitches its body up against the bigger Clown. and every so often they look lie they are kissing not jaw locking but kissing. My question is, are they in a mating process?

They will explore when they feel a bit more comfortable. When I get new ones they take their time, I've had them hang out in a back corner for a day or so before...

How about the one twiching next to the bigger clown and doing the Kissing thing. Is this a mating process? Or do I need to seperate them?

I say that's pretty normal. just give them time to get to know the tank. keep us posted in about a week or two. good luck. what kind are they?

I agree with MarvinsReef. Those vibrating/jaw-locking behaviors, though commonly expressed by actively-breeding pairs, are also used in pair formation, and can be exhibited long before an actual spawning event.

COOL.... Yay! I may have me some Little Ones in the Near Future!

Ok... it's been 4 days now and they are still hosting the back wall. They will come away from the back to eat and then they go right back to the back wall at the overflow. Is there anything I can do to incourage them to stay away from that area. I have a terra cotta pot in the bottom of the tank for them to take shelter but they just ignor this all together. They have gotten use to me feeding them now. When they see me they come out and hover around the top of the water line to get fed. Any thoughts? Thanks
