Hello all,

I am pretty new to the whole idea of having a tropical reef in my own home! I am just fascinated by the beauty and the opportunity to be able maintain a mini-coral-reef. I have bought a lot of books trying to understand all there is about reefing, but I must say it is quite overwhelming. It has been really great just reading the articles on R2R and all the other great resources on these forums. Recently, I have been finding myself just touring LFS for hours

Next year I am however moving to Washington State; my plan is to buy parts this year while living Colorado and once I move Washington setting up the fish tank. I am hoping maintain a 100 Gallon SPS Dominant reef tank.

All that being said, is there any advice that you wish you had before starting in the hobby?

Thanks

!!! Welcome to R2R !!! We have here a huge articles thread page that will guide you thru the setup and maintenance of a reef tank plus a lot of experience reefers that will be more than happy to answer any question you may have.

Welcome to R2R! Another great source is BRS on Youtube. If you have the time, I would highly recommend watching their 52 weeks of reefing series as well as their ULM series.

Thank you everyone for the welcome! This forum is among one of the nicest I have seen on the internet. Not to overstay my welcome but if anyone wants to take any more time out of your day please feel free to give input on my new thread https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/aquarium-parts-list-help.444090/. But everyone again thanks for such the nice welcome.
