I was wondering if this fella looks to be in good shape. I just picked him up 1/2hr ago from petco (I know, I know) he never touched their water though. I bought the bag still sealed from the supplier (Not Petco). I opened it and put it 1/4-1/2 cap of Prime for safe measure.

Looked a little white when I brought him home and now is starting to color up. Water parameters in the tank are as follows:
SG-1.026
PH-7.8
Ammonia-0ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Nitrate-80ppm (water change tomorrow should take care of that)
Phosphate-.75ppm

As for current stock list:
2 percula Clowns
1 Gold Headed sleeper goby
1 Royal Gramma
1 Skunk Cleaner
1 Turbo snail
3 Red legged hermits

20 gallon tank.

Phosphate and Nitrate are really high. PH is a tad low, but many tanks are sitting about there. The anemone looks alright. It's a little light colored, but will more than likely color back up. I would probably do that water change prior to putting him in. That being said I do know people with much higher nitrates that have anemones that are doing well.

My biggest concern would be that condys like to travel.... always moving around and have a strong sting.

The real question is why a condy...They don't host clowns and I am guessing that is why you wanted it

I got it for a few reasons. I did my research before buying. I bought it because:
-Price $6
-Color
-Test anemone in this tank
- And not going to lie a slim bit for a miracle with the clowns.

@melypr1985

I do know they pack a punch in a moving package. He is the sole coral in a 20g. I tried to feed mysis tonight but he didn't eat much. Maybe 1 or 2 shrimp. Then my cleaner shrimp came and stole the rest of the mysis from him. Yes, the shrimp walked on the anemone.

I know but $6 for a potential pain with next to zero chance of hosting or $25 for a bubble tip that has a much better chance of hosting and can have great colors

Yours looks pretty good. I wouldn't keep a condy anymore. As mentioned, way too adventurous for me. Mine ended up shredded in a powerhead.

I figure this was a good place to start. I plan on having this look similar to the anemone tank that @melevsreef has. I am planning on maybe LTA and BTA. But for now. This guy is A-OK

It's about as likely it will eat your clowns then host them. They're highly predatory, if any fish goes near it, best of luck.
Looks too clear to me, I would have passed, but it's not entirely past the point of saving.
It's not really much of a "test" for other anemones. Condys are way, way easier than most other anemones. Kind of like saying aptasia thrives in my tank, I must be ready for a sebae lol.

Well, he looks good and is pretty! You don't need to feed them much at all and only a couple times a week really. I don't see any powerheads in the tank but still keep an eye on him.

Well said. I will add bta next so we shall see how it goes. Basics first.

I've had mine for a little over a year. It was the same size as yours, now it's the size of a softball. It didn't move much when I first put it in the tank, but after a few months it decided it wasn't happy where it was and started moving. Started on one side and moved to the other side of the tank and took up too much real estate on a rock island, so I coaxed it into a Tiki head ornament I had and moved it away from the rocks. It's been using it as it's home now since the summer. It shares it's home with a Flasher Wrasse, if the Condy isn't retracted all the way inside, the Flasher will go in and out of the eye holes. All my fish swim around it with out any problems, the Cleaner Shrimp will even steal food from it and get caught by the tentacles but breaks free all the time. I have a pair of Clowns and although I have a BTA and this Condy they choose to host the overflow.
