New Coral Advice

My LFS was having a good deal on some frags so I picked up a frag of Zoa, Grass, and a Duncan.

Wanted to know where the best place to place them and just to give me any general tips and make sure Im not forgetting anything.

This tank is a 55L it has an aquatic life hybrid lighting system with 2 t5 actinic and 2 HID spotlights that while being 150watt I am told that they seem equivalent to a 250watt in a small area that they are pointing.
Right now I have the t5's set to be on from 9 to 6 and the HID are only set for 11-1pm because I dont want to burn anything

i wanted to start the zoanthids on the larger flat rock just to the right of center but I have no idea where to put the duncan or the grass.

Anybody have any thoughts about lighting needs or anything else I need to know these are my first corals.

For this system what would you say medium is.

Duncs should be middle of tank with medium to low flow.

Zoas should be lower light medium flow.

Grass I assume is star polyps. Those will do ok everywhere, but prefer med to low light.

Medium flow would be enough to wave tentacles, but not direct flow.

Medium light in your tank would likely be midway up in the spots or 2/3 in the space between or to the sides.

As mentioned earlier, you'll probably want to acclimate the corals. These are hardy enough species that it may not be necessary, but always better safe than sorry in reefing.

You might want to consider getting a separate rock for the Green Star Polyps. I love them but they can and will overrun your tank if you let them. If you put them on their own rock out on the sandbed you can contain them.

+1, slowly acclimate, @ 2 weeks is always what I do.

Slowly increasing the time that they are on over several weeks.
