I put her in the tank Wednesday evening and she seemed to be fine and was eating. She was a little timid but quickly was swimming around the tank.

This morning she has a mark on the top of her head. I’m hoping this is an abrasion as some of the holes she swims through a pretty tight.

The only thing different was I fed pellets instead of the frozen shrimp she had the 24 hours prior.
I’m new to this so please let me know if any other information is needed.

Thank you both for the input!

What do I need to look for if it were to become infected?

Any need for extra water change?

I was out of town for a week and with my ugly phase in full force, I have gunk all over. Should I avoid scraping the glass releasing all of the gunk?

You would see symptoms typical of a festering, open wound.

Gram negative antibiotic would be the likely treatment, for example kanaplex, typically used in a QT tank rather than DT.

Clean water is certainly important. You could scrape and siphon debris, or delay scraping for a few days to see if the fish heals.

Thank you!
