New coral growth?

Hi all

i bought a acropora about a month and a half ago looking like this

and today i noticed white tips like this

Is that a sign of growth?

In this case, it doesn't look like it.
While it does look like there is a tiny bit of encrusting, I notice the overall loss of color across the whole frag. You can see it's getting lighter near the base as well.
Considering how bright white the rock is that it's mounted to, I'm guessing this is a brand new tank?

You think the color change might be just from the coral getting used to the light? It should be encrusting if it was dying right?

light might bee too bright, tank might be too new, nitrate might be a tad low (aim for 5-8).

Look like it is taking its time settleing with the new tank, and as does it will start to bud out. The little bit of encrusting is encouraging though - Coraline coming on?

I have Coraline on one of my frag plugs and it seem to be spreading. So hopefully soon ill see it on the rocks

biodiversity. newer tanks do not have an established microfauna to help support biological growth in corals.

i have lost/killed plenty of corals due to this. even with stable water parameters.

This is one of the most wonderful things about your new hobby. A tank becomes a living thing, with its own dynamic personality, both good and sometimes bad. A diversity of bacterial species, a rich copepod and nematode and culture, algae and on and on
Take your time and you will see the benefits over time, and be ready fo the occasional set back
and keep up your photographic library, it will pay off

This tank is running for 3months and i been doing research for like 6months. There is not a day that i dont learn something new. I love this hobby. Here is few pictures of my Euphyllia and tank

Like I said earlier, doesn't look good to me. White growth tips are on NEW growing areas. The loss of color in your second picture is on the tip, but it's not new growth. It's exactly the same as it was in the earlier picture.

Like others have said, there is more to reefkeeping than just having 3 months of stable parameters. While not impossible (however improbable for a new reefer), your chances of success is low.

Seeing all those corals in this new tank give me anxiety.

Sooo many people told me everything will be dead within 3 months. So far i didnt see any coral loss. And all i see is corals getting bigger.
If the coral was bleaching it wouldn’t be encrusting right?
So what you think its making the color loss?

Not contradicting T-J, but my sense is that many of the LPS in your tank look good, your chemistry is good and that your piece in question is not thriving, but with some time it may begin to polish up. I like to look at a piece like this with a UV light at night over a couple weeks' time and see what that looks like

For its age, you have a fair number of frags in their, and I would now work on biome, (a couple of different bottles bacteria spread over time, a mixed pod addition, and my favorite but not so easily done, a small piece of gulf/keys rock, and let time take its course.

They just told you: different bottle bacs, pods and maybe some real live rock. I’d add some phyto as well.
