Im up grading some of my sps Coral. Gonna take out my two birdsnest that have grown well this past yr and replace them with new corals I purchased about 10min ago from Unique Corals. Hoping someone can ID them for me before they get to me. The only pic I have is the wysiwyg pic. But that is prob the best I will ever be able to proved anyways. Thanks for the help

Not 100% sure on either of these but top left some kind of tort? Myagi maybe? Top right could be green slimer.

The WYSIWIG lisiting didn’t give names?

No no names were listed. I’m hoping that when they are delivered there will be a name list.

A lot of these frag packs from Unique are just cut off of random mariculture corals. I would agree the purple/green one is a tort. All green is a stylophora or pocillopora. The last one looks like an acropora selago, fairly common mari piece. Nice looking pack!

My sps experience is growing as I’m having success. I enjoy watching the corals grow and my monti digi and the birds nest are doing well. My tank is small so I plan to switch things out as they grow out and become to big. I’m hoping there is a name so I know care/placement and can go by that when they arrive. I know “SPS HIGH LIGHT HIGH FLOW” but it seems like there really is a lot more variations on what each coral species does find acceptable.

There is some truth to that, but in general most SPS will enjoy high-light/high-flow with a few exceptions. What type of lighting do you run?

I have a sbReef Box. I upgraded about a yr ago and am very happy.

If you are already having success growing SPS you should be good. Imo, these pieces are on the easier side of SPS. The Selago can be a bit more tricky to keep colored up and healthy. I wouldn't start up high since you're running LEDs. Let the corals settle in and move as needed. All three of these can take a lot of light IME, but I do not run LED so its hard for me to speak on placement in your system.

So I just heard back from Unique and they told me what the pack contained. It’s a 3D Tort, a Green Cats Paw (Pocilloporo), and a Green Goblin.

The tort seems like the “name” is just a name for an Unknown tort bc I cant find any coral by that name online. And the “green goblin” doesn’t look like the other “green goblin” corals I could compare online. Hopefully they grow out nicely either way whatever they are.

Look up Acropora Selago. I'm 99% sure that's the third coral. Like I mentioned before UC gets a lot of their frags from unnamed maricultured corals. You should be able to find enough info just knowing the species. Good luck with them!

Definitely Pocillopora on the back right, and it can become prolific. If it does, you'll wish you had never added it.
Check my old tank link in my signature if you wish to know how I know...

I believe I saw someone selling a coral on a facebook page under the name "Rainbow Tort" that looks very similar to the top left coral. It also looks like a WWC Madman Austera in my tank. Here's a link to anther pic of the WWC: https://reefs.com/coral/wwc-madman-austera/
Probably isn't the wwc but could be, most likely just a random "Rainbow Tort".
