Just picked this acan up from an lfs without taking a good look at it first, and it has this weird growth that looks like hardened algae. Which can be seen on the back right side of the coral in this image. How worried should i be. Should i try to remove it, wait it out, or try to return it

can you get a photo of the algae

Im out of the house right now but it just looks like a hard dark green mass with a few small green hairs comming off.

From what I see right now, I would just pull the frag out of the water and pull or break it off. Do you have coral dip? If so, you can dip it afterwards as well.
