My first coral is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, I forgot to purchase the Coral RX! I have no QT tank, so it's going in! Should I pull the coral out when the dip arrives and give it a treatment, or will that be too little to late?

Also, Homedepot and Ace here in town don't carry the Bayer insecticide...

Thanks.

Bayer has been rebranded as bio advanced, still the same thing if that’s what’s causing the confusion that no big box stores sell them. Even my Walmart sells it...
Searched for the new branding and still didn't find it...thank you for the tip!

There's no LFS in Santa Barbara? Strange haha, I thought there would be. At least you're not super far from LA, where they're spoiled for choice.

@hds4216 - Right? So nobody in Santa Barbara does saltwater @Oprah - chime in here!

Ventura is the closest...

Aurora, CO - Most of my family is Colorado, including Aurora... Lots of memories (Jolly Ranchers!)!
Yeah, I personally wouldn't chance it. Worth the drive. Also, wait until you see what comes out of the dip lol

Dont know how reliable it is, but WWC instructions say to put frags in the tank, let them acclimate, then dip them 24 hours later. Their logic is that pests wont travel in that short of time. But I always dip asap.

IMO...You want to float the bags in the tank first. But ALWAYS dip BEFORE you place in the tank. The idea is to PREVENT unwanted organisms.

You could get some tank water a bucket place the heater in there with the coral in the meantime and then get the dip either online or go to the store...once you got the dip well dip the coral and afterwards clean the heater with hot water let it dry out problem solved

It's not that big of a deal. Parasites are part of the hobby, and a great way to fill out your tank! Got aiptasia, get a filefish! Bristle worms you say? Get a Wrasse! Your tank will look great, and you'll learn how to take care of issues and be apparently the only one in your area who knows about reefing.

Solving aiptasia with a filefish isn't really a surefire solution. Plus there are worse things, like acro eating flatworms or something.
