Does anyone know what the best way is to get the coral off of the disk it is attached to? the disk has a post on the bottom and i just cannot find a place where I can place it in my tank without it looking weird so I want to remove it but I am too scared to put too much pressure on it...help!

It all depends on how the coral is attached to the disk, if the coral is grown on to the disk you are better off using two fishes epoxy to attache it to the rock work. if the coral is not grown on to the disk and all you see is the glue at the base just take a exacto knife and pop it off the disk. either way do not crack or damage the skeletal structure of the coral.

I've never done it, but I'd assume the glue holding the coral on will just break off, I have been table to rip the coral glue right off plugs with ease in the past.
