Hi guys this may seem a stupid question but can't seem to find a lot of info on it.
So my DT is ready for corals but my dkh is sitting at 10.
The LFS I'm getting corals from dkh is 7.5.
Now I know everyone makes a huge deal of kh swings especially with sps but no one seems to make a big deal when buying corals that their kh matches the stores kh.
Is this a problem?my red sea blue bucket mixes to 9 dkh and would take me a lifetime to bring down to 7.5
Thanks for any help

hi, would suggest to acclimate in separate container ,dip ,then add.
30yrs ago , just added the corals ,still have some of them corals...;)

Thanks that's what I thought but I still don't understand.
I will be putting acropora into a 3dkh swing where people who have a 1 dkh swing in their display can kill established acropora in no time...just got me confused

as stated above..just go slow, acclimate them over the period of time, you'll be ok. I just float mine to match temp., and put into my tank. still no issues.

Well i am not sure i believe the 1dkh swing is killing anything, but more to the point yes stability is good and large swings can cause issues. If your dkh chart looks like a yoyo with 3dkh swings daily I dont think that is good. That 3dkh swing you are going to do once is probably going to stress it a bit too...but chances are it will be fine. One of risks of buying coral.
