New corals..need names?

I just bought 2 new small corals from my lfs but didn't catch the names?i asked for a grass looking one and pointed it out but when I got it home it looked like this?the one I wanted looked like green grass?has it just recessed?

You got the right one, its just not out, may take a day or two for it to get used to your tank and lights

Can I grow the pulsing Xenia from the sand bed?

Just move the piece of rock the xenia is on to the sand bed and it will be fine. It still might spread though.
