I recently purchased some new corals, they came in the mail from live aquaria last week Tuesday. My concern is they still haven't opened up. I got two Duncans and one Gorgonian ill show pictures below. The gorgonian two nights ago had one polyp bloom and the next day the polyp retracted and one different one bloomed. Today, none are bloomed. The two duncans seem to come out VERY little then retract again. In one of the pictures below you will see one of my Duncans has a second branch which is blooming, but the main is still hidden. My question is, how long will it take for them to acclimate, do they take longer when they are shipped vs picking them up at the LFS? I have a 14 day guarantee in which love aquaria already mentioned they would take them back if they didn't bloom by the 14th day but I'm hoping to avoid shipping them back if I can. They don't look sick to me, what indicators should I be looking for if they are getting sick?

Sea fan are extremely finicky, Duncan's aren't so much. Out of my two sea fans, the pretty blueberry one is only open about 10% of the day (close to fish feeding time) but is almost always open around midnight. The not so pretty purplish grey one is open all of the time. Both of your new coral might only open at night, sometimes they open all the time sometimes only at night. The "stem" of the Duncan still looks healthy though. How much light is hitting them?

I had both Duncans under a lot of light when I first introduced them, since I moved them to a shadier area they have started coming out little by little but they never come out fully

Neither of your new coral need a lot of light, check tonight and see of they are opening. If they are opening at night, about once a week you can feed it a little bit with a turkey baster. Just gently squirt a tiny bit of some mysis or brine or whatever you prefer into its fingers and it should grab it. How long has your tank been set up?

I fed them a few days ago with zooplex, they didn't seem very interested, it's my scheduled feeding day today... Should I try again?

Don't try feeding them until they are opening and ready to accept food. Otherwise it will go uneaten and fowl up your water.

Gongorians can be real picky. They to do require light and will extend polyps more at night or in a tank with low light during the day. They also are prone to algae problems on the stems so a good water movement is needed. The orange base is still there so it is still alive. They also like cooler water.

Dumb auto correct should be require no light.
