New cube build! Again!

Here’s an attempt at a few close ups of some corals that were easy to get to.

Well here I am sometime later with an update... lots of changes to the tank, wife thinks I’ve lost my mind. Maybe I have a little, but gone a completely different route with things. Get ready!

So even though I dip and give corals a good once over before they go into my tank I had ended up with maybe the worst case of vermetid snails and aptasia known to man! So between my bryopsis outbrakes that I was treating and snails / aptasia I was trying to nuke out I crashed my tank. Got so fed up I almost shut the whole thing down! But alas I didn’t and here we are with a restart of my 60 cube.

So I fragged, cleaned, and inspected everything I could and put that and my fish in a holding tank, while I started removing rock and sand. Pulled out all equipment and cleaned everything including tank and overflow spotless. Let everything dry and air out for a little while I decided on new rock scape.

My wife bought me a DOS and a Trident for Christmas, so that’ll be going on also! She’s an enabler but then wants to make fun of my reefing obsession lol

Yes it’s bare bottom again! I think that I like the look of sand as far as being more “natural “ but I can’t stand it when it doesn’t look pristine, and I can’t spend that much time cleaning a sand bed so... I moved one of my Gyres down to the bottom of the tank behind the rock work that randomly pulses to keep everything suspended and filtered out.

Everything testing good, tank has cycled, adding my fish a few mini colonies and frags from my other tank. Keeping an eye on params real close for a few weeks.

Everything running really great so far I’ve placed a lot of my frags that I had rocks are almost completely covered in coralline and started with a few pieces of SPS. Fingers crossed.

Everything is running great having a little trouble keeping nutrients up actually. Removed the fuge and light and added more rock to my sump.

No FTS yet but added another fish and a clam. One spot foxface, he’s a little fellow so is the clam. I’ll try to get some photos this weekend when I’m home while the lights are on.

Well foxface is doing fine, my wrasse ate the clam so... I know not to spend anymore money on those. Started feeding more in hopes of getting a little better color.
