Maybe not be the most ethical way but i Fillled the 14g tank with water yesterday and added a goby. I added tims one and only 6 hours ago. And i just tested the water.
Temp 77.8
Ph 8
Ammonia .3
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 3
Wheres the nitrites.???id tims cycle it that fast?? I assume the little ammonia will turn intonitrate next which ill follow with 50%change

fish in cycling works pretty well among dosers, its a very common start. he would die overnite if the tank cannot handle fish, bottle bac controls ammonia well from rising to lethal levels and only ammonia matters. a tank at aquashella dallas had all dry rock and several clownfish swimming and eating fine, set up day 1 of the convention, using their bottle bac. same action as yours.

controlling ammonia from rising isn't that hard, its handling fish disease passed around
