new cycle

3wks into cycle, using carib life rock, live sand, biospira. Cycle going well, i redosed ammonia about 5 days ago, and ammonia zero'd out, but my nitrite today 0.1 - 0.2, nitrates 20-30.
Awaiting to add my first fish (clownfish x2) - I figure I should wait for my nitrite to completely go to zero? is it normal for the nitrite to lag this long after the ammonia?

What nitrite test are you using?

It is best to let the nitrite go to zero.

Interesting, not sure I’ve seen false positives posted on that one much. I’d give it a little time to zero out as @PatW recommended.
